If you have noticed a change in your skin or face and are wondering what might help, a consultation is where everything starts at Cosmedicentre. Here is what happens, step by step, so you can walk in knowing what to expect.
Before you arrive
You can book online through HotDoc or call 1800 953 535, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Before your visit you may receive a short screening call to talk through your current health and concerns.
It helps to bring a list of any medicines you take and any major medical or health issues, so we can take them into consideration. Please note that you should not have treatments if you are pregnant, planning to be, may be, or are breastfeeding.
The conversation
Your consultation begins with listening. Signa will ask what you have noticed, what matters to you and what you would like to understand better. There is no script and no pressure, just a conversation about you.
The assessment
Next comes a thorough clinical assessment. Signa will assess your concerns, discuss suitability, explain the options available, and talk through risks, aftercare and expected maintenance. Dr Mark Goodrich, a Specialist Ophthalmologist, determines your management plan.

Time to consider
We will not treat you without your informed consent, and being informed is a process. We take the time to explain the fundamentals of ageing, how treatments work and their risks, and we check that your understanding is sufficient before anything begins.
If you would like time to think, take it. With your permission we can send you information on the areas you are interested in, so you can weigh it up at home. If you need more time, we simply postpone.
Looking after your skin in the meantime
Your general health matters as much as any treatment. Care with sun exposure, not smoking, a healthy diet, enough water and regular exercise all complement your care. If you have doubts about your health, please see your GP.
If you decide to go ahead
Your treatment is provided by Signa, a full-time cosmetic registered nurse, under Dr Goodrich’s clinical oversight. If you have any concerns after a procedure, you can call Signa directly on 0404 047 149. For after-hours concerns or emergencies, dial 000 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
