Cosmedicentre (Toogetha Pty Ltd, trading as Cosmedicentre) respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect through this website and our clinic systems, how we use it, and how to reach us about it.
What we collect
When you enquire, book or attend, we may collect your name, contact details, date of birth, Medicare or health-fund details where relevant, and health information needed to care for you safely. Health information is sensitive information and is collected only with your consent or as permitted by law.
This website collects standard analytics (pages viewed, device type, approximate location) through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, and the chat widget stores the messages you send us so we can reply. We do not sell personal information.
How we use it
- To respond to enquiries, arrange and confirm appointments, and send reminders.
- To provide clinical care and keep accurate records, including sharing within the practice we share with Australian Eye Care where it is relevant to your care.
- To process payments and Medicare or health-fund claims.
- With your consent, to let you know about recalls and clinic updates. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text or contacting us.
Who we share it with
Your information is shared only with people and services involved in your care or in running the clinic: treating practitioners, our booking and messaging providers, payment providers, and Medicare or your health fund where you ask us to claim. Some providers store data on servers outside Australia; where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in line with Australian privacy law.
Storage and security
Records are stored in secure, access-controlled systems. We keep health records for the periods required by law and destroy or de-identify other information when it is no longer needed.
Access and correction
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. Call 1800 953 535 or write to PO Box 1854, Coffs Harbour NSW 2450. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right; you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
